11 Words of Inspiration – Courtesy of Box of Crayons

Thanks Box of Crayons for releasing this video at the beginning of 2011.  I decided to focus on a word a month. I know, I know, there are only 11 words but surely there is one that will be worthy of a second chance.

I think the word EMBRACE describes my January (and 2011) because I want to embrace what the new year will bring my way in all its glory (good and bad). My word of inspiration for February is PARTNER.   My sub-text is PROVOKE. PARTNER because of the great people I have the privilege of partnering with this month [Dandelion Web Design, Joan Vinall-Cox and Silvia Gonzalez].

And PROVOKE – because it just comes naturally to me.

If you had to put one word to your first month of 2011 – which one would it be? And why? And since February is almost upon us – which word do you think will best describe what is on your horizon in the next 28 days? Leave a comment and let me know.

Thanks for sharing this Dawn! Being more an “image” person than a “words” person this is a good exercise for me. “NEW” describes my January… a New Year, new clients, new website (I redid my own site over the holidays), I have a new computer and I’m using some new web tools. For February my word of inspiration will be “EXPLORE” – I’ve written it on my white board!

Your comment reminded me that January has been about “NEW’s” for me too: NEW computer, NEW email system (all cloud-based), and NEW web tool (Dropbox) to name a few.

  3. It is amazing how a Box of Crayons can serve to inspire meaningful words! Thanks for honouring our partnership of many years and at multiple levels. For the month of January I am going to select the word DISCARD! I have been discarding ‘stuff’ since December and into the month of January–files, clothes, personal and professional ideas that no longer serve me. Discarding for what? I believe, perhaps, to allow my life to FLOW like life-giving water…For February? Not sure yet. Will let you know soon. Thanks Dawn for inspiring me with your WORDS!

Congratulations on grabbing on to the word ‘DISCARD’. What a great way to make way for ‘FLOW’. You’ll be lighter and freer to FLOW by DISCARDing the excess. A great lesson for all of us.

Thanks Pardner (that’s my John Wayne accent). It’s great learning from you and Ruth. I think I’d choose the word “Flow” because I “love” it when I can get into “the flow” in doing my work.

  7. Dawn says:

Nice, sneaky use of two words – love & flow. I really enjoy the learning partnership too – thanks for that.

    Hey Dawn,

Well I can personally attest to your use of “provoke” but then again that is probably mutual since we are “partners”! Since it is already Februrary I have the benefit of hinds site and I think my word would have been “embrace” ’cause I am choosing to embrace what the new year brings with gratitude. I think “discard” will be my February word and my word for the year!!!
    Peace, your partner.

Hey partner – can I hold you to the word discard as your February word and your word for the remainder of the year?
